Aer Lingus unveils two new routes from Cork as the airline unveils its Summer 2019 schedule

• New routes announcement coincided with the inaugural Aer Lingus flight from Cork to Lisbon today
• Aer Lingus is the largest airline servicing Cork Airport with over 1 million seats available from Cork in Summer 2019

Cork, Friday 26 October 2018 – Aer Lingus announced its Summer 2019 schedule at Cork Airport today, unveiling two new routes from Cork to Dubrovnik and Nice. Dubrovnik is an increasingly popular summer destination in southern Croatia fronting the Adriatic Sea, while Nice remains one of France’s leading summer hotspots.  

The latest route expansion underlines Aer Lingus’ commitment to Cork. Aer Lingus is the largest airline operating at Cork Airport, both in terms of frequency of flights and seat capacity. Across the year, it operates flights from Cork Airport to 23 destinations.  Next summer, Aer Lingus will increase capacity from Cork to 1,063,000 seats, up 4% on Summer 2018.

The announcement was made at the inaugural Cork to Lisbon flight today.  The airline also announced that the Cork to Lisbon route will be available all year round.

Speaking at today’s announcement, Greg Kaldahl, Chief Strategy and Planning Officer at Aer Lingus said:

We predict that Nice and Dubrovnik will prove very popular with passengers across the South of Ireland, combining the easy passenger experience at Cork Airport with low cost car parking and the attractiveness of the outbound destinations. We are working extremely hard with our airline partners to further grow and expand choice from Cork Airport and this announcement brings to seven the number of new destinations announced in as many weeks for next summer. We are forecasting overall passenger growth of 7% in 2019 which, despite Brexit, will demonstrate a strong performance once again next year.”

Aer Lingus’ Cork – Dubrovnik service commences on 4th May 2019 and will be operated by A320 aircraft every Tuesday and Saturday. Cork – Nice service commences on 1st May 2019 and will be operated by A320 aircraft every Wednesday and Sunday.
