Press releaseAer Lingus launches new direct flights from Ireland to Barbados for spring 2026

February 12, 2026

Dublin, 12th February: Aer Lingus will operate a temporary scheduled service between Dublin and Barbados for spring 2026. The seasonal route will run from 31 March 2026 to 31 May 2026*, offering Irish customers a direct connection to the Caribbean for a limited time.

The service connecting Dublin and Bridgetown will be operated using Aer Lingus’ most modern Airbus A321XLR aircraft and will run three times weekly, departing Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Fares are available from €229 each way, including taxes, fees and carrier charges.

From swimming with turtles to rum-tasting tours, Barbados offers an unforgettable escape. The island is home to over 50 picture-perfect beaches, known for their white sands and turquoise waters.  Wildlife enthusiasts may even spot the island’s iconic Barbados Green Monkeys in their natural habitat, while food lovers can explore local flavours, including the national dish of Flying Fish and Cou‑Cou.

Beyond the tropical beaches, Bridgetown, the island’s capital, is steeped in rich heritage dating back centuries. The Bridgetown Historic Garrison is UNESCO World Heritage site and visitors to the city can immerse themselves in the colourful local lifestyle as they walk down Swan Street’s lively shops and market stalls.

Aer Lingus customers will fly from Dublin to Bridgetown, Barbados in comfort on the airline’s A321XLR aircraft, which is widest single-aisle aircraft cabin on the market. The aircraft is configured with 184 seats in a two-class layout featuring 16 full-flat Business Class and 168 Economy Class seats. The A321XLR features larger overhead bins, as well as wider seats, the latest technology for in-flight entertainment, and acoustic engineering for quieter cabins.

Note to editors:

*This temporary operation follows the forthcoming cessation of Aer Lingus’ transatlantic services from Manchester from 31st March 2026. The direct flight from Dublin-Bridgetown is being introduced primarily to re‑accommodate Manchester passengers flying to Barbados.
